What Lucie did next…..

It’s an end to era for me today.  After 10 years its time to say goodbye to my 1st baby, Il Tutto. What a crazy ride it’s been – filled with such tremendous highs and some moments, lets just say I will put down to being character building. I am thrilled to have sold the brand to a great nursery business in Melbourne and am excited to see the brand continue to grow with a bigger infrastructure behind it.

After running your own brand and business for so long, its hard to know what to do next. Through some soul searching and the decision to focus on my happy place, I am now back in the world of fashion and design – Yay! (Insert happy dance here). You can now find me as the Head of Accessories for a company called APG & Co. For those in Aus, this means the brands SPORTSCRAFT, SABA, WILLOW and JAG – Fun fun fun!!!!

Leaving the life of an entrepreneur will always be tricky. That thrill and excitement is intoxicating so watch this space but for now I am loving life and loving the thrill of working back in big business surrounded by the buzz of an amazing team. I am even being used as the poster child for attracting female executives to the business – Head of accessories / mother of 3 / having it all – Ha ha ha!!

Editors Pick – my favourite “Aussie” online finds under $100

I am a massive fan of online shopping. Lets face it, where is the fun in shopping with 3 kids in tow? On-line, you can shop with a glass of wine in hand, peruse at your leisure, and try things on in the comfort of your own home once the kids are in bed. You can even try them on with items from your own wardrobe – win win win!!! If you are not used to the online shopping world, it can be daunting. Its about finding the stores that suit your style, offer good delivery and return options and make the whole process easy (Remind me to tell you the story of purchasing a pair of leopard jeans at 3am whilst breastfeeding from ASOS without even getting out of bed). Dressing your Bump (Autumn)

As Autumn approaches its time to start thinking about dressing as the weather cools down. For those ladies who are pregnant this is the perfect season for you to shine in all your bump glory. There is a bit of a formula for dressing your bump as the weather cools down to always look chic and fabulous. They key here is layering.

One item you will see in all the street shots below is a statement jacket. Make this your friend this season and the best thing is it doesn’t have to be a maternity piece and can be worn long after you no longer have your bump. Wear open and let your bump peep through.

Invest in a good quality pair of comfortable skinny leg jeans. Whatever your shape or size, the slim leg silhouette balances your proportion and elongates your leg beneath the bump. Trust me on this one – its a game changer.

Stick to t-shirts that drape rather than cling in white, black & grey marle. You are after ones that skim the body. Avoid oversized shapes (they will only make you look larger) and skin tight lycra.

Mini bag must haves…

Anyone who is a regular reader of my blog will know that I am PASSIONATE about designing great handbags. Not just handbags that look amazing (although that is also a must) but bags that are functional and make our lives easier. As a mum to 3 active and crazy little girls, I often find myself at the park, running errands or basically acting as a taxi, dropping off and picking up (anyone else relate?). It’s times like these that a big baby bag is just too heavy and cumbersome, however, I need essential items with me such as purse, sunglasses, keys, lipstick, phone etc. I also want something that is hands free so I can pick up toddlers, grab little hands and carry groceries. Enter Il Tutto‘s latest bag – the Anais fold over clutch. It answers all my requests and best of all the strap can be easily removed making it a stylish clutch for evening date night with the hubby – Perfecto!

New Year. New Look.

Its my 1st week back in the office this week and that means I have had to retire the Beach Kaftans, Havianas and playsuits for something a little more corporate. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t do traditional corporate. I do my own relaxed form of corporate that usually involves a dress and sometimes involves heels. Something that I can meet a customer in and reflect my brand image. When its ridiculously hot, this can sometimes be challenging. How do you retain the polished look when its over 30 degrees?

My top tips are: Choose dresses in natural fibres, Loose fitting not clingy, strappy or sleeveless for maximum airflow.

What are your tips for dressing in the heat?

My love of lashes…

I love thick glossy lashes (almost as much as lipstick – actually – its probably on par). Nothing opens up you eye more than good eyelashes. I am really lucky to have quite long eyelashes although without mascara they are very fair and fine. I was lucky enough to be sent some 3D fibre lashes from Younique to try. As much as my love is for glorious long lashes, I have never been tempted with eyelash extensions. The upkeep is just to much for me and I think they can look a little sparse and clumpy if not maintained well. 3D fibre lashes that are applied like mascara hit the nail on the head for me and the results are great. I am an official convert.

To use you first apply your regular mascara. I use L’Oreal Paris false lash mascara and use it everyday. It has a fantastic brush that coats every lash without clumping. You can buy everywhere but I usually buy from Priceline. You can buy here.

Loreal False lash mascara

Once your regular mascara has dried you apply the undercoat of the Younique 3D Fibre lashes and when wet you then sweep on the black fibres that stick to the undercoat and look a little fluffy. You then apply a second coat of the undercoat as a top coat and the fluffiness disappears and you are left with long, thick glorious lashes.

After Younique

The kit comes in a divine quilted box so is really easy to pack and take away. You can BUY HERE.

With the Christmas party season upon us now is the perfect time to treat yourself to this as its so much easier than false lashes, makes your eyes pop and comes off like your regular mascara. Win, win win.
